One time when I was outside of a Cheesecake Factory smoking a cigarette a man propositioned me thinking I was a hooker.

I had a table once whisper loudly to their children, "if you don't go to college, you'll end up waiting tables like her..." while I was prebussing their table.

Along the same lines as Becca's story about people making assumptions about educational backgrounds, I waited tables at an Italian chain restaurant that falls between Olive Garden and Macaroni Grill in terms of cost/quality the summer between college and law school. Our clientele was generally pretty decent, and as a

That’s a good moral for a tiny, tiny brain. I also wrote a long reported piece, at this website, ripping apart the Rolling Stone story—and Anna’s done nothing but apologize for her quick judgment on that post since then.

It’s worth pointing out that DeRogatis played a large part in breaking the R. Kelly story, and his careful, meticulous work on that story couldn’t stand in greater contrast to Rolling Stone’s UVA piece. His work gives such a lie to Rolling Stone’s excuse — we were just too sensitive to rape victims, you guys! —

1. Rolling Stone has long been a shameless pimp for whoever is selling the best at the moment. They have zero integrity or credibility. 2. Phillip Seymour Hoffman’s portrayal of Lester Bangs in Almost Famous is just brilliant. What an actor he was.

As embarrassing as the Rolling Stones article was, it was definitely comparable to Jezebels embarrassing response to anybody questioning it’s validity...

Because it's free can you can listen to it anywhere.

I think maybe it's the availability of SO much music. It would cost a fortune to purchase every song you could potentially listen to streaming for a few days.

If I wanted to buy the MP3 of every single song I have on a playlist in Spotify (including weekly updates of some of my favorite playlists), I'd be paying a lot more than $9.99/month. $120 a year on music is actually pretty low, compared to buying 15-20 new MP3s a month.

so, the bottom like is, the rich over rated people just want to get richer

its all about Benjamin, JayZ wants more of your money

There's no beef, per se. Jay Z is one of the artists that just launched a competing (more expensive) music streaming service (Tidal), so I expect we'll see most of the artists involved start pulling their music from the competitors.

I can't wait for Tidal to crash and burn.

Then people like Maher will say ‘I told you so about Muslims’. There’s no winning.

The outrage is because one) Bill Maher has shown in the past that he very islamophobic two) Zayn from One Direction deals with a lot of jokes about him being a terrorist because he is a Muslim . Asking Zayn “Where were you during the Boston Marathon?” is offensive, sigh this site really is privileged mess.

Part of me wishes, deep inside, that Zayn would go Hard Ass Motherfucker on these assholes.

Yeah, I’m kind of like, really annoyed with some of the Jezzies. A lot of them saying this isn’t blackface should know better. When I read the description I thought it was going to be like, silver paint or something and the internet would be freaking out for no reason. But, nope. Yes, it’s metallic, but it’s also very

Sorry, you'll just have to settle for the myriad debates about whether black face is racist or not as a consolation prize.

Yes white people she's a robot. That's the look she was going for.
