If you look at others posts about his death you will see that there are multiple photos being used. His exact age is well represented. He is not on trial and his age is noted in every single report. I am pretty sure that’s what is going on. He is killing people in her name and calling it the Joy Lane Easter Massacre. If she publicly condemns him it could make his anger much worse and cause more deaths.
From my understanding she was with the police when she made the statement, because they are trying to protect her from him. More likely than not they did vet her statement and coached her on how to respond.
She is only claiming he is a nice guy because he hasn’t been captured yet. He is still a threat to everyone and putting the blame on her. If she condemns him in any kind of way it could make the situation worse for other innocent people. She is trying not to set him off further.
