No, properly designed and aimed LED headlights are just fine. I have not been blinded by a new Prius/Tundra/Model S/X/3 and any number of other newer vehicles that come from their factories with properly designed LED headlights, and I drive a car, not an SUV or truck.

Meh, I think we’re further along in EV acceptance than that. I live in a small, isolated town in rural Oregon, and we’ve being easily relying on a used Model S for over 4.5 years now. Granted, I’m definitely an early adopter, but the number of Model S’s, X’s and 3s I’m seeing around now, in addition to the Bolts,

It is when it comes to new construction.

Come on, reputable companies take deposits on future products and services all the time, for big things and small things. From buying a plane ticket, to pre-ordering the next iPhone or Galaxy, or putting a down payment on a house, paying an upfront deposit on something is completely normal. Hell, you want to buy an

Ok, I get it. You’re telling us that what is clearly a concept car is not road legal. Gotcha. I think most people are able to figure that out on their own.

Why are the headlights illegal? Other cars have had continuous light bars across the fronts (Mercury Sable is the first one I can think of). I think they could easily have the *headlights* on either side, and have the center be like DRLs. Rivian’s doing that exact thing.

No, an electric Brat!

I gotta say, watching/reading everyone losing their absolute shit over this thing has been the most entertainment I’ve had from a product release in years!

Those regulations do not apply to trucks, only light passenger vehicles.

I’ve been to a few Superchargers that have pull through parking. Its rare, but they do exist.

You got lucky.

That’s what I was thinking too. How do they calibrate this properly? Make it drive to Portland, ME and back?

If you say so. Like I said, I have no problem with them experimenting, and if this is something that really bothers you, just don’t buy the car.

Yeah, I disagree with your entire assessment of electronic door handle performance. I don’t think they are anywhere near as bad as you say. I’ve had long term, multi-year experience with both mechanical and electronic door releases, and their failure rates have been similar.

Nah, its a real cop, but he knows the real Stasi agents are in the Wartburg 2 cars back, and half the rest of the drivers and a third of the crowd are IMs (inoffizielle Mitarbeiter) all reporting on each other...

Golf carts and low speed neighborhood vehicles. DC motors have been used in a lot of conversions due to the simplicity, but because getting regenerative braking is difficult with DC systems, AC systems have begun becoming more the norm. (That and junkyards are starting to produce cheap AC powertrains...)

I’ve driven manual cars that were “capable” of hitting 4.2 seconds 0-60. Its difficult to do that without risking damage to the car, and its definitely not smooth or comfortable. Even the owners of those cars said it was difficult. Since the fastest acceleration in a manual transmission car is challenging and
