Its not about the value of the car.
Its not about the value of the car.
Agreed entirely. I’ve got a 1981 BMW e21 that technically should have been chucked in a scrap yard years ago, better examples show up in junkyards all the time. But I’ve kept it running and it puts a smile on my face everytime I drive it.
Man. Those LLVs have been around (and around) so long, I’m starting to get nostalgic about them...
Bought a 4WD Mercedes Sprinter last November. First big dumping we had I took it out for a jaunt in the snow.
Ok, he’s just building a Youtube following so he can start a Patreon page to fund his real project:
Yeah, but because its Iceland, it still costs 150% more than almost anywhere else in the world...
Agreed. I ended up doing all my own mechanical repairs that didn’t require machining, refinishing or exacting tolerances.
The only place “qualified” to work on Volvos where I live is the dealer. After I moved here, I tried working with them for preventative maintenance work on my 1985 740 wagon and my 1973 1800ES shooting brake (as in, the real sort of shooting brake, with only two doors, not those cut down, chopped rear doors paid for…
(Don’t call it Frisco...)
I’m in the process of building a camper van and decided to go with an 1800w (peak output) induction cooktop. To figure out how much solar/batteries I’m going to need to run that hummer, I plugged it in to a Kill-a-Watt meter and cooked a typical camping dinner and a typical breakfast on it.
Nah, just prosecute him for the myriad of financial frauds he’s committed and throw him in prison. It would be a net savings to the country if we did that.
Shut up! I still have one of those locks and I’m waiting for people to forget about that whole episode so I can start using it again!
Agreed, but I get super paranoid about the security of my locks when I’ve watched a few of his videos. In a sense, locks are more psychological than actually secure. They’re good at keeping most of the people from taking your stuff, but the determined or knowledgable can still help themselves.
Don’t forget all the faux plastic quasi-military beefcake dressing on the outside and inside.
High deductible plans are the only thing that’s even remotely affordable offered where I live. In fact, the state of Oregon has to incentivize insurance companies to even be in our area, despite the fact that the local hospital is the major medical center for the eastern half of the state. We have no shortage of good…
I wouldn’t describe it as a “more rational” argument as just a counterpoint.
Agreed. I’ve got Hella H4 Euro headlights in my e21, and if I ever get a ticket for running non-DOT headlights, I’m thinking of fighting it by arguing the the law is making my nighttime driving more dangerous than it has to be. My headlights are fully E-Code compliant (they’re actually OEM European parts), so its not…
(Its not the IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety) that makes the rules. Its the National Highway and Transportation Safety Administration, NHTSA.)
