NYC wasn’t built in the wrong place. It was built on the “This is New York Fuckin City, the most important place in the world and we need this done NOW, damn the expense/technology/prudent way to do it/rational decision making” concept.

Friday’s TSLA share price closed at $310/share. That’s 12x, not 5x. And I bought it in 2012. Tesla didn’t exist in 2006. I wish I had put money down on Amazon, but I didn’t see it coming. Amazon’s business is way less capital intensive than Telsa! But, I’m a car guy, not a commodities guy, so I saw the potential in

If by being a sucker you mean buying TSLA at $26/share like I did, then yes.

Did you watch the video of her crashing? Its linked to this article. I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that you didn’t.

What, are you internet-commenting this from balmy southern California? Its freeking cold out. Like, hypothermia cold out. Like cold enough to freeze and kill you cold out. You get in a wreck where there’s tons of other wrecks, you can’t see more than 50', its blowing hard and snow is coming down sideways. You seek

Well, there’s definitely still more Kool-aid, but some of it might be spiked...

Don’t worry, you’re already too late to be an early adopter.

All this just goes to prove one thing:

I had another thought too:

Agreed, particularly when the purpose of such mods is effectively peacocking. I acknowledge that people can do whatever they want with their property, but I think its sad when I see stuff modded badly mainly for show.

Yes. We locals call it Central Oregon, but you can also drive over to Eastern Oregon or down to Northern Nevada for the same thing.

I think if I put my car up for sale today, it might get $1500 if I’m lucky. My car is not in good shape. Its got Pacific NW coastal rust. Its got dents. Its missing parts, its beat. Better cars are getting dumped at junk yards.

I used to be in the same boat, and had the same attitude towards getting a car loan.

Sure, you are allowed to have a sense of humor, but Elon Musk isn’t, apparently.

If by “house current”, you mean a 120v 15 amp wall outlet, that is effectively 1,440 watts of power (120v * (15w * 80%)). That much power is equal to about 4 miles of range per hour of charge. A 10 hour overnight charge would give you 40 miles.

Because Tesla is renting the spaces for the Superchargers from the land owners who host them. If you are parking your ICE car or non-compatible/authorized EV in a Tesla Supercharger stall, you are effectively trespassing on someone else’s leased property.

Look: The Model S is really quite simple. Despite all the flash and tech and performance, its really pretty straight forward. Tesla hides that behind a slick software interface, but really, the car is a big battery (with temp sensors, voltage and amp sensors), an AC induction drive system and a bunch of standard

No different than what happens on modern ICE cars. I had a 2011 VW Jetta, and I bought an electronic device that allowed me to reprogram the onboard software from my tablet. I could also buy optional components that my car didn’t have (like fog lights) and program the car to accept the new components.

Cars in collections aren’t really considered “useful”. They’re purchased for reasons besides their utility.

You can say that about a lot of cars.
