Not a Jewish gene perse, but basically over the centuries a certain degree of genetic homogeneity has become visible in DNA-tests. While there is no such marker for Catholicism.

I completely understand and went through something very similar myself. I don’t notice those things happening as much anymore.
I don’t agree with that concept, there is no real Catholic culture as you compare to Judaism. There are regional rituals and suspicions yet no genetic heritage to speak of. Jews are not really comparable, there’s no Catholic gene.
I actually pulled this on a lady once! I was having my nails done for my cousin’s wedding and we were talking about Scientology (I think the Tom Cruise/Katy Holmes thing had just come out) and I was talking about what I had read about the ‘church’ and how nutty this stuff is and she’s like, “omg, there is just no way…
Have you read Under The Banner of Heaven, by Jon Krakauer? So far that’s about the only real expose thing I’ve read from a non-Mormon. I’ve read plenty of FLDS apostate books, but nothing that explored what Krakauer did. Give it a try if you like those kinds of things. I really enjoyed it.
I agree with you, nothing more patriotic in my eyes either. My point is that it’s only sacred in that it’s a symbol of our nation; it’s not a consecrated object, it’s not blessed, it’s not holy. It’s symbolically sacred if you will.
Would also like to add, that I’ve seen others point out, that the flag is not sacred; meaning blessed or consecrated. It cannot be ‘desecrated’ by burning it. It cannot be desecrated at all really.
I was 13 and hair crimping was all the rage. My stepmother spent the morning crimping my hair for a trip to the mall. Father sees me all dressed & ready to go and says, “ I’m not taking you out in public looking like a n****r”. Queue tears and phone call to mother to come and get me.
Been waiting all election season for this compilation! Did not disappoint!! Love this!
I don’t think it was staged for PR, but I DO think it was an inside job either through the hotel or through someone on her own staff.
Bought mine in Paris at Best Mountain. They’re simple, black and skinny, SO COMFY! Would love to post a photo, but I got them in 2014 & they’re sadly not listed on their website anymore.

I haven’t been there in ages, but CVP used to have this beer called Resurrection, maybe they still do? I also remember the small plates being pretty good.
I did a paper on that church in college!! Best research ever! At the time there was always a parishioner hanging around willing to chat about the history! All that stone is local, there’s faces of donors all over and for such a gorgeous exterior, the juxtaposition of the austere interior is just fantastic!! I love…
The only reason I wore a sports bra at the barn was so I could strip down to just that & my breeches after rides to cool off in the summer. I’d do barn work in just my sports bra & breeches. Almost all of us did that. I can’t say I noticed a difference in my mounts when I wore a sports bra or not. But then again, I…
Mine were similar but side zip & higher around my ankle. So hard to drive in them!!
I’m pretty sure Leslie Odom Jr. is out this summer, it’s already been announced I think. Your point about Munoz is spot freakin on! We got Saturday matinee tickets not realizing Miranda didn’t do that one and were pleasantly surprised by Munoz! I also have the original cast recording with Manuel and the difference is…
·“But there is time—so much time—after infancy for a mother to become the secure base that a child needs to cope with the world.”
Reductress is definitely Onion-style satire, I love it!
I just came from seeing Hamilton, I ugly cried. What got me was that he tells his son that a man with honor shoots for the sky, they both do it & die. Got me right in the feels even though I totally knew the story.
I’m with you now. It could be something like the estate thinking they’ve fairly compensated the care giver with all these things & her lawyer/state law saying otherwise. Assuming this is all a case of sourness for being let go as some others are speculating. I’m personally leaning towards the estate administrators…
