See, you want to call me a non-serious person, but you actually think that any of the light saber battles in this movie compare to the Duel of Fates scene, so I’m not sure if you can talk.

She physically forced his lightsaber into the ground and stood over him while he was defenseless. She beat him, despite the fact that at best she hadn’t had any sort of training in something like 20 years and he was doing shit we’ve never seen before throughout the film.
Well, that’s one aspect where the prequels are superior and its really not a contest.
But more than that, Rey beating Rylo Ken was pretty garbage storytelling from a trilogy standpoint. If she can already destroy him, there’s no way he should ever be able to overtake her going forward. Like I said in another post, this was just A New Hope 2: Girl Power.
That’s a fair point, I’m just saying in the context of the movie, the last 1/3 (outside of some of the Rylo Ken stuff and Rey going to find Luke) was pretty dull.
Not really. But if that’s that’s the only thing that is “groundbreaking” about a film, then it probably isn’t a very good film.
You mean high quality, entertaining and believable?
What is actually GOOD about The Force Awakens?
I guarantee you as time goes on, people will realize that The Force Awakens was just an okay film.
It was more interesting than A New Hope 2: Girl Power.
Actually, off the bat people loved TPM. Then as time went on, people’s enthusiasm waned.
In a lot of ways they are better. Especially if you watch the “anti-cheese” versions. And he at least tried to take it in a different direction.
