Games can achieve this now, the only reason its not happening from day one is because console cant run games like this. Game makers want money and all the money is coming from consoles.

If you have the game on steam do a verify cache that normally works when something goes wrong.

Well unless you get your account stolen, which can be recovered pretty easily if it does(just show bill statements) So the only thing would be your computer but you can always install steam on another computer and log in and have all your games again.

I know its strange but some people still buy the disks for PC games. It makes them think they own the game or something. Which is funny because you dont own games anymore you just rent them for full price.

Unless the physical game comes with some cool freebies or a nice instruction manual I personally have no use for a disk copy of the game.
