Just use the unbreakable weapons in the game if it bothers you that much - i enjoy it because every weapon is now useful, especially when gathering mats in lower areas. It keeps the game fresh and you never feel truly overpowered.
This is exactly right. The game would be just another open world RPG if you could repair weapons. If you’re breaking too many weapons before you can reliably restock with same strength or better, you are probably in the wrong region.

Exactly the same as No Man’s Sky. That’s where the comparison ends, though.
I think the other aspect is the way enemies respawn. There’s room for serious weapon breakage as a part of memorable emergent gameplay, but the blood moons subvert that.
