AI is an augmentation, not a replacement.
If you don’t think that companies are plotting ways to have ‘AI’ chatbots replace huge swaths of human customer service workers, buddy, I have an office complex in India to sell you.
“While these billionaires say they want to create a world where no one has to work”
Your premise is inherently flawed. Sure, both narrative film and sports tell a story and have conflict, but it’s the scripted, controlled, and contrived nature of film that makes it art and sports not. Sports are objective and skill based while films are purely expression based.
Some might say the purpose of art is to…
I am not at all interested in seeing a slight variation of the same game being played yet again for the many-thousandth time while cheering for some team simply because they happen to be the nearest geographically collocated team.
For that reason, I’ll never understand anyone who loves film and television but shudders at the idea of a sporting event.
“...I just disagree with the parts that reduce my profit margins or ability to avoid using actors at all.”

“NOT MY FAULT” says CEO whose fault it really is.
When I spoke to [SAG-AFTRA leaders] Fran [Drescher] and Duncan [Crabtree-Ireland] before, I said, ‘I agree with a lot of what you’re saying’
While it is absolutely true there aren’t enough good writers to go around (plenty of examples of bad writing if you look) if you are hired as a writer, you absolutely deserve to be paid properly for your work, and not be in fear of being replaced by an AI built on scraping your work, and that is non-negotiable.
I wish them as much success as they would have chasing after NFTs.
I say this with all due respect, which obviously is none as you don’t deserve any for absolutely anything for what you just said, go fuck yourself.
Adapt, sure. But artists are also struggling to have their IP rights protected, and a lot of AI training is based on outright theft, so that needs to stop.
I look forward to all of these running for two weeks and then getting canceled.
I dunno...I’m a fan of the original MMPR, but this just feels kinda cringe to me. Like the “New Adventures” of Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy.
I don’t want to yuk anyone’s yum! I loved MMPR when I was a kid but watching 50-year-olds try to recapture the magic just doesn’t move me.
Idk... I should be in the target audience for this kind of nostalgia but it doesn’t excite me so much as it serves as a reminder that time comes for us all
No Abe Vigoda, no deal.
