@srwight: So, I went back and investigated, and, for me, it was all opted out. Facebook Places defaulted to "Friends Only" just like the article said.

@infmom: That's true. I wasn't commenting on whether it was wise, just the parking.

@infmom: Um, I think you could probably find somewhere to park it in front of your apartment for one saturday, twice a year.

Facebook gets on my nerves with the new "features" that are automatically on.

@Dafrety: But then, it's not someone else's job to keep me from ruining my stuff. If I break it, I learn not to do that next time...

@gebbss: Perhaps you could scan the cover, print it on an iron-on transfer, then iron it onto your fabric.

@Julio Antonio Cervantes: Yes, but don't try to read LifeHacker while you do it. I got distracted today and had to cancel my popcorn snack. I know better than to take the lid off a hot pan with oil in it when you don't know how hot it is...

@SupaDave: Then you get hacked, and your lights come on and your curtains fly open while you and the Missus are...intimately engaged...

The no-salt trick has been around since I was in grade school 20 years ago. It's also unnecessary, dishonest, and manipulative. Here's the REAL trick. (It requires going inside.)

@Hello! My name is Anonymous: Boo. They don't care all that much. I managed for four years at a McDonald's, and I was crew for two before that. We never cared. You just needed to know it was going to take longer.

@senorbelly: I always thought you just threw yourself at the ground and hoped you missed.

@Architectin: Absolutely! I rarely meet eyes with other people in the mall, at the amusement park, etc.

@eliavictor: I try to look at the traffic while I'm at the BOTTOM of the ramp (when possible), select an already-existing gap, and accelerate appropriately to hit that gap.

@witeowl: LOL! We could start an open thread about substitute teachers and technology woes!

@berky93: Classic controller plugs into your wiimote, just like the nunchuk, IIRC.

@zelannii1: Re paying credit cards down with emergency fund:

@Sean Duffy: I think the name of the extension is "Google Sender's Picture".

@NW_Eagle: I was wondering about the corners with kids running through the house. Sharp wooden corners hurt like crazy, but at least wood has some give. Sharp metal corners? That's asking for trouble.
