I thought it would be cool if it was an alternate timeline where Link from OoT never got woken up after he grabbed the master sword.

This game’s so old it’s practically an AARPG. The story seems interesting but in my opinion, the gameplay is gonna kill it.

They kinda explained in the anime that it was supposed to be a bachelor party-type road trip before Noctis’ wedding. So the fact there’s no women makes sense for the plot.
