This is the right take. You remake a movie that was a good idea/not great execution (like 1958 The Fly) in hopes of turning it into something great (like 1986 The Fly).

I mean, there is a way to keep the name if they just change the logo:

Dale Murphy has the same problem that Strawberry and Mattingly have: Played at a clear HOF level early in their careers, then basically fell off a cliff around age 30, leaving them a bit short of HOF credentials unless you *really* favor peak over longevity.

Being slightly above average over a lot of innings makes one better than average overall. But yeah, they just let a guy who was “pretty good” into the HOF.

He was good at lots of things (getting on base, hitting for power, stealing bases, and defense) without being great at any of them, which tends to get overlooked by HOF voters (much like his teammate Lou Whitaker).

LOTR: The books and the movies are both great in their own way. I’d argue the Two Towers movie is better than the book, Fellowship is a better book than movie, and it’s pretty even for ROTK.

The Hunger Games book and movie are close. Catching Fire and Mockingjay books are WAY better than the movie/movies.
