Q: What do Christmas and Sydney Sweeney’s boobs have in common?

Huge respect to Roddenberry for kicking off Star Trek. But TNG didn’t get really good until they kicked Roddenberry to the curb, so I don’t see his “vision” as necessarily being all that great. And, by all accounts, he didn’t like Wrath of Khan, so his tastes are questionable.

Exactly. I Don worry about depreciation, because I keep my cars until they start costing more in repairs than replacements. I get the full use out of them.

I can't blame him. It's hard to keep track of what's what in "Yellowstone" with all those spinoffs.

I’m disappointed that Brosnan had so little respect for geological features. Did he learn nothing from playing Dr. Harry Dalton, noted volcano expert, in Dante’s Peak (1997)?

Condemning Israel for what they are doing to Palestinians has nothing to do with Judaism or antisemitism. Its political, not religious. Starving a civilian population and murdering children is a war crime and condemning that act has absolutely nothing to do with the religion of the perpetrators. The fact that Hamas

Hooray, you climbed to the top consider yourself a success! But while you were right on this, doesn’t mean you are right on everything, you idiot. You may be considered a hero in one place, but you are still the all singing, all dancing crap of the world.

Picard also ended, having featured Frakes.

They’re saying that the last Star Trek series to end without a Riker appearance was Star Trek: The Animated Series, which ended about 50 years ago.

There seems to be some confusion among the commentariat. Perhaps clarification is needed

Kicked ass in theaters.

Aside from the fact that we already have this generation’s Spinal Tap in Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping, I’m all for this, because why not.

BR2049 had Jared Leto in it and the movie didn’t suck and Jared Leto didn’t suck (for that one brief moment). I don’t know how Denis can do the impossible and walk away with doubts.

Ridley will always be an absolute legend. But BR2049 is so superior to anything he’s created in the last 15 years, we are deeply lucky that things worked out the way they did.

Denis, buddy, 2049 was a better film than the original. By a country mile. You did good, man.

BR 2049 is both a sci-fi classic AND superior to the original imo, box office be damned. Lay your burden down, Villeneuve.

same. omg, it looks incredible. if they nailed this scene so well, which is such a crucial one, then we are in for a legendary movie.

I think you’re confusing the Oscars with the MtV movie awards--pretty sure those are the ones for cultural relevance (and I expect Barbie will fucking clean up on those popcorn bucket things!).

And here I thought it was because boomers couldn’t use them/didn’t like them

that is the exact opposite of what I’m seeing.  Self checkout is good in some spots.  it lets us who want to get in and get out quick fast.  used properly it can enhance what a store offers.
