But seriously, this movie shows history kind of like I experienced it…I had no idea what was going on, but there were the images of 'Nam, China, Watergate, Protests, whatever~ weird shit going on and I really had no idea what any of it meant.

Yeah, I saw it as very dark, too. I think the whole goddam point of the film in general and Forrest in particular is that they are empty vessels that you fill with your own feelings and bullshit.

Meh. I lived through a lot of the stuff in the movie. One of my earliest memories was the clink of canned goods when my mom was sending a care package to my dad in Viet Nam…the context was our own lives and experience, maaaan. The movie was totally groovy.

It's kind of insane how it is cheaper to make a series and then just OWN it outright than it is to license some decades old stuff…I really hate how that is happening and the splintering of the streaming market.

What an incredibly wussy album collection. Chuck them all except the Spirtualized, Stone Roses and Suede. Buy some records by people with extraordinary talent who don't spend all day gazing at their navels and thesauruses.
