I almost hate starring your excellent posts because it’s consequently promoting an asinine conversation to the forefront. Everything you’re saying is so painfully obvious it shouldn’t need saying at all, yet here we are with all the “but but but she started it by shoving him so it was perfectly acceptable to cave her

Here’s the thing, though. I have no interest in Labyrinth. I don’t want to see it, I won’t go see it. Nor will most of my friends. But you don’t see me seeking out Labyrinth fan pages, or articles about Labryinth, to shit on it. I’m not interested in it, but I don’t feel the need to shit on people who are. I know my

As an aside, you are letting the outcome bias your opinion.

I think that Team Penis and Team Vagina should get together.

This kind of logic reminds me of the 2004 election when people were so certain Kerry would win the presidency because “nobody they knew voted for Bush.” Likewise, the same logic happened in 2008 with Romney—”nobody they knew voted for Obama.”

Well I’m not sure why else you would say

Whoa, slow down there. It’s way too early to decide if this is a failure or not. Keep in mind that the studio expected a $40 million debut for this movie. The expected take is usually the threshold for a studio to consider a film successful or not. Ghostbusters beat expectations (slightly, but still) so it’s doubtful

It was really refreshing to come out of the film and realize that 0% of it was filmed for the male gaze.

It was a lot more physical and action-y than I expected and I loved that so much. Everyone was just beautiful and amazing and I still feel happy and giggly from the experience.

I loved that Wiig and McCarthy were much more the scientists and McKinnon just really wanted to f*** up some ghosts with awesome gadgets. She was living her best life during that battle scene.

She was AMAZING.

I made a point of going last Saturday (and taking my 6-year old and my 4-year old even though the movie is PG-13) so that I’d contribute to the numbers. The whole sexist troll controversy made me defensive of this movie - I’ve never had that before.

YES! I felt exactly this! They were all awesome during the big battle, but Kate McKinnon was my everything when she started kicking ass.

Saw it. Loved it. Kate McKinnon is a treasure.

Ghostbusters was SO GOOD! During the big final battle scene, there’s a shot of Kate McKinnon running in slo-mo toward a bunch of ghosts, guns drawn, and the Ghostbusters theme song is blasting while she does it. For the first time in my life, I felt what I imagine little boys feel at superhero movies. “That could be

i saw it! i loved it! AND THEY WEAR REGULAR FLAT COMFORTABLE SHOES WHILE GHOSTBUSTING!!

I know a lot of women in my age group (30-40) who are planning to see it, we’re just fucking busy. Maybe the demographic of this movie is not like the fanboys who see stuff on opening weekend, rather the movie will see steady business throughout the summer.

No. There was no threat of harm to him, he weighed about 80 pounds more than her. It’s not ok to respond to a push or a slap by shattering someone's jaw.

There’s no point talking to the angry douches round here. Why do they care? I always suspect rejected writers.

I thought this was great as well, Tina, but there’s always the outlier:
