Jeffrey’s gonna love it!
The only reality TV show set in the Hamptons I want to see is Ina Garten's friends secretly talking shit about her in between luxurious yet simple meals prepared by Garten's underlings.
Your statistics about 8-12 year old boys and unlocked firearms reminded me about an old and sad family story. It was the 1920's on the farm. Two little boys are playing with their dad’s handgun in an upstairs bedroom. One boy playfully says “Shoot me! Shoot me!” and his brother pulls the trigger...killing him dead.…
How many incidents like this would be acceptable then? Because if you're saying that we shouldn't ban guns because so few gun owners kill their children, then I wonder where the cut off is?
The problems is that some people think that owning a gun is a right because it’s in the constitution explicitly and we can’t strip people from their rights without due process. Knowing that how would you stop unstable people (this woman probably never even went to the psychiatrist) from having access to guns? That’s…
How many parents are ever charged for their kids accidentally shooting themselves with guns?
... until they become Freelee and eat 52 bananas a day and become radioactive.
It’s a case of illusory superiority, or the above average effect. Most gun owners think that they are safe and responsible gun owners. However they can’t all be right because—

Strawman. BusPassTrollop never said “therefore we should ban this one thing.” You put those words in his/her mouth to further your own agenda.
# Out of curiosity, what % of gun owners do you think end up doing stuff like this?
the percentage is much higher than the % of non-gun-owners who end up shooting people.
The idea is that if you has asked Ms. Sheats two weeks ago if she was a responsible gun owner, she would have said yes. Everyone who thinks of themselves as a responsible gun owner always thinks they are using those guns to protect from outsiders, when stats show that their guns are more likely to be used to injure a…
I would like for you to point out where I said we should ban anything.
Except most of the things in the world you could fill in your blank space with weren’t created for the express purpose of killing people.
I have this deep seeded feeling that not matter how awful the things said, the lack of a gun would have meant everyone got out alive....
the fact of the matter is having a gun in your house makes it more LIKELY someone will get killed with one.
A small number, thankfully. But a much larger proportion of guns end up used to hurt their owner or a family member than are ever used to protect same.
