it’s such a weird dissonance. where I’m at now, people outside the industry just assume I make big bucks because the institution has mega big bucks. Does it trickle down? Hell no! I don’t mean to be a museum employed, former NYC gallery employed jerk about this, but they make auction catalogs for a reason. You see what lot the stuff is you’re interested in, and show up when they get to it. I think they livestream or at least publish what lot they’re on on the website.
