Yeah.....I fell into the "too valuable to lose" role and got screwed over too many times. I eventually wised up and left that job. Now, I'm in a consulting position which I love. I'm actually rewarded for being "too valuable" because that means my clients will keep re-upping and my company loves extended contracts.

I pretty much cook all of my rice in a microwave. Put in rice, add water until it covers rice plus 1 inch above the rice (measure with finger, water level should be to the first knuckle). Make sure your bowl is twice as tall as your water level. I don't even bother to cover mine. 12 or 13 minutes depending on how

I only ever cook one meal for my family, affectionately called "Shut up and eat it". Of course, my family isn't a big fan of it and it usually isn't a repeatable meal since it's made differently every time. It's essentially my version of using pantry staples effectively. It's nothing that would entice a "foodie"

I think that there are those (such as the LifeHacker staff) that spend a lot of their time working on it because it's a JOB. Then there are those of us who skim articles looking for things that apply to us and implement them. We don't spend any MORE time skimming those articles after we've freed up time.....we

My vent exits on my roof and I used that product (plus an extension they sell) and entered through the point by my dryer. The main product comes with 4 shafts that screw together and will reach about 8 feet. My vent was near the peak of my roof and I needed to go to 12. The extension gives you another 8 feet. I

I've had really good luck with the videos found on RepairClinic.com. They are very informative and include both how to troubleshoot and how to repair. [They also sell replacement parts at prices that are reasonable based on my research.] The fixes are not as simple as the ones in this article, but I've fixed my

Unless they are terrible cookies (i.e. trying a new brand), I've never had a cookie make it more than a couple of days past opening the package.

That's all well and good, but the store I shop tends to use different per unit prices for various items in the same class/category....which is annoying. Example: some drinks is listed in units of per gallon and another is listed per ounce and a third is listed in units of "each" (because it's a multi-pack). So in

Plus, 36 is 12 more than 24. 1/2 of the 24 pack cost is $1.50. So 36 should have only been $3 + $1.50 = $4.50 had the price been linear. So, the 36 pack is the WORST deal......

Out of curiosity, how many people actually use their computer/laptop as their primary Netflix streaming device? Between Roku / Smart TVs / Xbox / PS3 / Bluray players / etc. not to mention on-the-go devices such as phones and tablets, I would think the number of PC-only streamers is getting smaller (at least

I agree that her parents helped out a lot. But if you can't go with that option, finding a roommate or two is an alternative. Not perfect, but cheaper than living on your own.

Kegel exercises???

#2 reminds me of Slim Pickens.

And on top of that, you have to touch the nasties that have collected on the catcher in order to remove it.......

Nissan Armada? Suburban?

I still have my original Pirates! disk (EGA!! — and you had to boot to play it) plus the map and manual. Pirates! and Civ II are in my top 5 all-time games.

There's also the inconvenience to your schedule. If you buy/sell through Craigslist, I'd bet that most of your transactions take place between 5pm and 9pm on weekdays and all day on weekends. Granted, if this is your job, this would be your schedule.....but it would interfere with your social life with others.

MS BOB didn't make the cut? :)

Yep. Plus, the hot goey goodness of semi-melted peanut butter is awesome.
