Reading the release, it sounds like it's a compilation option. You can build for 7.5/7.8 unless you specifically need 8 features. I don't think you'll see too many 8-only apps in the near future.

The inside end looks open to me.......still not that practical.

I'm with you......WP7.8 will be nice for those of us already on WP7.5 (and bypassing the carrier might mean that I even get ICS finally!) and I'll be ready for an upgrade when WP8 is really available (as in handsets on the shelves), so I'm not even disappointed that my current phone won't get it.

Or maybe 7.8 because it's 7 with some of the 8 flavoring added?

I love the live tiles in WP7 and look forward to 7.8/8's extra size (the small size is the only new one), but I hope that WP7.8 and/or WP8 add support for tiles in landscape mode. When I rotate my phone, my icons should rotate as well.

There should be a moratorium on reusing number under *ANY* circumstances.......at least 1 year.....but probably longer for certain numbers. It should help cut down on wrong number calls from spam calls.

I've never been good at string tricks. I can get long sleepers (30 seconds plus easily), but I just wind up with knots. But I can go around the world multiple times, shoot the moon, etc.

I agree. I'm more likely to stay at a Best Western now because they have this policy in place. I didn't think they did a better or worse job at cleaning before.....but with this added level, they will likely clean better than many other chains.
