I saw a QR code on a vehicle as the "How's my driving?" option. The QR code took you to a form with the truck number already filled in and a box for comments. Good luck Googling that at 70mph. (I wasn't driving.)

Not to mention that most of the people blasting QR codes now were the very same people who were saying how awesome it was before it was everywhere and misused. QR is still a lot better than typing stuff in.

QR is more generic than having to AR tag in mulitple apps........

I find them helpful when shopping (for, say, bigger ticket items) because it deep links to the product page with more information on the product that you get in the store display.
