If you look at the design, the bump is actually in the middle row. The area you press is making the open end "teeter-totter" over the bump. The first time I encountered them, they were in the dryer and I didn't know what they were.....turns out I was not very efficient at getting rid of all of the plastic. But then I figured out where they went because I saw one from under the shirt collar and saw that there was a "pocket" for them specifically.
