Financial Disclosure reports for judges have explicit sections for funds and for individual equities. This is not as a result of his investment in diversified funds. He purchased individual shares of Tesla in November 2022 and December 2022. Assuming he’s still holding the shares, he’s up by about 60% on the December

If his money was in an index fund, then his disclosure would say “15,000 - 50,000 in a Vanguard index fund” as opposed to specifying the company within that fund. If some middling government employee accepted a fruit basket from Elon they risk getting fired. This is a conflict of interest that the judge gets to

But there is a difference between owning companies in an index fund versus owning an equity outright. I somehow stumbled into Nvidia 3 years ago, and the growth in that single stock dwarfs the growth in any index since then. If I were a judge in a position to boost/kill a single stock based on a position I held,

Got charged $20k more than when I ordered it, the software bricked 5 miles after picking it, up, and they said whatever the problem is isn’t covered under warranty...

Odds of Elon trying to sue reservation holders because they aren’t following through on the purchase?

Prospective buyers eyeing a base-model Cybertruck will now have to shell out an additional $39,000 just to get their foot in the door."

LOL, yes, increasing the price of a vehicle that has just about run out of idiotic takers will surely help the bottom line. He is a “jeenius” like his mate Trump.

“Still love the truck though!

I wouldn’t take a Cybertruck if they gave it to me free. I might take it if they paid me to take it.

Having sat in all three, the Lucid may look the same, but it is WAY more premium that the other two.

Toyota: We Build Excitement!*

I guess Toyota should stick to boring sedans.

The bigger takeaway is how does this guy get away with blurring the lines between his publically listed company and his private ventures? SEC has put people in jail for less.

Wall Street is finally figuring out that all AI’s today are dumber than rocks, and that comparison is an insult to rocks.

The Tesla-stans operate like a cult. There is only Tesla, other cars don’t exist to them outside the context of Tesla first.

This was why I disliked Tesla fanboys even before Musk revealed himself to be who he really is.

Imagine developing bespoke tires designed to work with matching wheel covers.  Then after 4+ years of development, the covers still dig into the tires!  What an embarrassment this car is.

Literally the only reason you should ever be locked in to OEM tires is if you’re driving a Bugatti or something with tires specifically designed for 200+ mph. No other reason.

A+ on using the photo of the Cybertruck with dumpsters in the background. No ignoring the similarity in design.
