I remember that! That wasn’t even the worst crash that competition. Just the most “flamboyant” shall we say!

You would have to have some sort of Stockholm Syndrome to find the CT an acceptable product.

it seems to remain stumped by two things: Taxis and pedestrians.”

If Tesla implodes, it will only because he made it happen. Without him, it’s still quite profitable with low debt levels (albeit no longer growing like it was prior to the last year). But he’s doing his best to drive it into the ground.

I own 2 teslas. During the Full Self Driving free trial, I couldn’t wait for it to end and return to regular Auto Pilot (which is just lane keeping traffic aware cruise control). This was because FSD repeatedly did dangerous things in the few times we tried it. I’ve tried multiple versions over a couple of years and

Also agreed. And I hope Tesla gets their ass handed to them in the current court case over it.

All why it should never be called “Full Self Driving” or anything alluding to it being able to do that. As the other commenter said, it’s more challenging to stay alert to take over something that could wind up killing you versus just driving yourself.

It’s actually more difficult stay at constant ‘alert for sudden takeover’ status than it is to just drive.

There is plenty of fault to go around here. You can’t call something “Full Self-Driving” that can’t see flashing crossing lights and a damned TRAIN across the road. And the driver is a complete and utter moron for not immediately taking control. My guess is that they were not really paying attention, because for dammed

I still wonder why they still named it Full Self Driving if it’s just level 2 and need to be supervised by driver

Impressive. Both in “FSD”’s inability to see the crossing with a train in it AND the driver’s failure to take control in a timely manner as explicitly required by “FSD”. Two wrongs making a much bigger wrong.

I agree, I believe this country is past the point of no return. Sure, the types of guns being sold legally could be banned, though unlikely, but there’s no way that making guns illegal would solve anything, other than making a ton of people criminals by default.

Not exactly an apple to apples comparison. Australia didn't have anywhere close to as many guns, much less something in their constitution that guarantees gun rights for it citizens for almost 250 years. Guns are way more ingrained in American culture, for better or worse, for something like what worked in Australia

You missed the part where he threatened the cops?

I’m certainly not on board with the idea that all cops should have guns, but the on-paper facts are thus - in a society where all citizenry can carry guns, cops will continue to act as if every citizen has, or could have, a gun. So they will outfit themselves similarly. You’re not going to get cops to give up their

Any criminal, SovCit dipshit or not, who wants a gun will get a gun whether it’s legal or not because criminals generally don’t care about following the law.

I feel aweful for everyone involved here. For the loss of life, for the loss of a son. For the officers who have to live with taking a life (leaving out whether or not it was justified...you still gotta live with that).
