I would agree that you can get plenty done in 30 seconds IF you stay calm, but in the words of George Carlin:

Not sure I know what you mean, here. Looking at the chart at the time in the video you’re referencing, at standard cruising altitude it shows as low as 15 seconds at rapid decompression or as high as a minute on slow decompression.

“Post-meal grooming session”? I’ve got a nips-length beard and have never once waited until after the meal to make sure I don’t have food in it. After every bite (depending on the food).

My only input is this: if and when you bring it up, don’t be ANYWHERE near your firearms. Bring it up somewhere out of the house, where you both have access to an individual exit.
