Call it “Karmic reflection” if you will, act on intent to hurt your team and end up hurting yourself.  Not a perfect solution since the team still has a griefer but at least the incentive to be a general asshat in game has been lessened

Beware, the missingno glitch does have a small chance of causing permanent damage to a cart or rom (some emulators). My brother has a red cartridge that runs at half speed since catching the missingno pokemon and despite deleting save data, it still runs slow.
