There were A LOT of gut punches last night. But Ray went out like a champ. While I shed a lot of tears.

Regarding Colin Farrell as Ray Velcoro .

The Mexicans. That was the only ethnic group Frank didn't have covered.

You are 100% right my friend.

Gotta tell ya Emily- I don't envy anyone having to review this show. How did you get that lucky job? It would take away from enjoying the show — oh right- which this year was about as enjoyable as a Triple Root Canal. WITHOUT anesthesia.
At least last year the lively banter between Rust and Cohle livened things up.

sc 2 was horrible- it had such potential too. loved 1

OMGosh She'd be perfect, but it will never happen with penny dreadful. Movies too I think.

I'm sorry, she had me almost tearing up last night.
But what really caused my tears , no I'm not exaggerating, was seeing Ani hold her (and Ray's) baby.
For me she became " The Lady of Sorrows"

Yes Sanctusfilius,
you named her aptly.
Her singing— if we had really been listening was the key to all of this- in a totally esoteric way of course :)

at best.

well at least you're honest. I don't think the reviewer was really pleased. I don't think many if they ARE being honest should be very pleased. The season was a mishmash of too much too little. It meandered and winded around the characters when everything that really happened, could've been said in a 4 hr anthology/

The ending was very weird, especially Frank's walk of redemption in the desert. That was too much.
Were those really vultures trailing him???

Yes, sweet sad songstress, my tears are still flowing to your words. They had the most meaning last night and finally made all the sense in the world:(
I will never forget her . Her words were the ones if we had really been listening— that truly tied all of these characters together as one.

The only thing to take away from this bleak finale are the women left behind and what they represent. There's no happy ending. Only memories needed to be forgotten & 3 sons that Ray and Paul will never see as men.

Woodrugh 's brand spanking new highway dedication sickened me. But seeing Frain still alive and well???? Made me want to throw up.

Yes, the song gave it away from the very first episode—
NEVERMIND
