This isn’t my favorite movie but I don’t know how anyone hates it. The only flaw of the movie is that it’s altogether so silly. But that doesn’t even have to be considered a flaw from the right vantage point.

One major reason is market share. Tesla by far has the most products in consumer hands that have tech of this level. Aside from the recent death involving Volvo and Uber (killing a pedestrian), it mostly goes away quickly because it’s something that consumers are out of touch with, because they can’t see it unless

Simple, no one cares about the systems of other brands. I don’t doubt that there probably have been other accidents (even fatal) involving level 2 systems in other brands, but it’s practically never reported, certainly not to the national level.

I get that Tesla is under a microscope and any excuse to be in the headlines

That’s weird. The line clearly looks washed-up and actually missing from some spot. If it was just the lighting, wouldn’t the left-most line also have the same issue? (Although I guess the viewing angle is different so that might play a role)

I’d say the infrastructure isn’t ready for the tech.

How come we don’t hear stories of other manufactuer’s self driving accidents? It’s not like Tesla is the only one with this technology. I get that Tesla is under a microscope and any excuse to be in the headlines, but I’m curious if Mercedes, Volvo or BMW have an equal amount of self driving accidents that simply go

Ah... it was a joke. Probably too soon.

She’s taking a driving test. That would indicate she did not formerly know how to drive.

Are you one of those guys who thinks repeating something stupid and wrong really loudly will make people believe you?

That is the fastest that any DMV employee has ever moved.

The 4-banger’s desirability transcends any rationality. It’s renowned for its reliability, but it has taken on an almost mythical aura. It’s really only more desirable because it’s more desirable.

Ditto. My parents recently retired from MA to central FL and every time I visit it’s like the land of cars that I forgot ever existed.

I have the same experience, being in Oregon and seeing all kinds of old cars that are running and for some good condition. That isn’t the case in the Midwest where our winters would devour them.

Yeah, but astronauts...um...proved the moon was probably part of the Earth? I mean, it’s not important, but it’s kind of mildly interesting. Probably could have been done easier, faster, and cheaper with robots too... You win, this guy’s not “like an astronaut”, he’s more important to the advancement of mankind.

I really prefer, the Walken comma.

Always use an Oxford comma, unless you can use a Shatner comma.

I love space, and hope we progress a lot on that front. But when you’re 90 years old and your hands are constantly shaking, what you would do for a car that drives itself instead of always be reliant on others.

Is it really that strange though? People sign up for jobs such as astronauts or other jobs with high risk in hopes of fulfilling their dreams of the future world. So is it odd that a person wants to see self driving cars become the norm willing to sign away his will for it?
