but if the Model 3 is fully autonomous maybe it may actually be better for the blind :)

Sign up for a Model S test drive. Then come back and tell us if you opinion is still the same. It’s really a great car.

It’s at least going to have the same level of autonomy as the current Model S but I think they are going they have a surprise in store. There is definitely going to be something significant in “part 2". I’m also expecting a refreshed S here soon.

Level 5 is basically an autonomous vehicle with no option for human control, right?

It’s going to have a steering wheel and be the first production vehicle to reach Level 4 autonomy. That’s my guess. Also why the gauges are not important.

I’m still not entirely sure they couldn’t get similar head room with steel but the picture clears up some of the reason why it might be more difficult.

I think you run into a similar problem as the “hatch problem” illustrated above.

:) Really though it’s not any different to glance down from the the road to look at a gauge in either position.

The glass roof is for rear headroom while keeping the sleek design. Not completely useless.

“The next assignment: make it a hatchback”

When I first saw the shop I thought it looked like the saleen kit. Confirmed.

Not every state requires a front plate. Why ruin the design for a few states with stupid laws? I live in one of those states, Ohio, but I’m ok with it. I’ll probably just not run front-plates though. I have literally never had an officer pull me over and then walk around my vehicle to check for front plates.

Either of the no grill looks. If they put a fake grill on from the factory it might be enough to cancel my pre-order (highly unlikely though). Why don’t they just make a vinyl sticker option? Either that or I’ll just start selling them to all the complainers aftermarket.

Chances of getting a ticket are low enough for me to take the risk.

The Model 3 has a major advantage in the supercharger network that the Bolt doesn’t. That and the Model 3 doesn’t look like a Bolt which is a huge plus. At the same price who is going to consider the Bolt?

If the range was better than ICE would a five minute recharge still be your requirement?

Tesla did change it’s name from Tesla Motors to Tesla Energy without much notice from anyone.

No license fee but probably charging fees.

It means they are talking in terms of relative affordability. It’s affordable if you are in the market for a new car to begin with. I’d venture to guess that a majority of car sales each year are used.

Steel support is at least an inch thick. Glass is 1/4". It’s about head room.
