Access to birth control/control over their reproductive health for women correlates with economic well-being, so allowing women to *choose* improves the likelihood that any children are both loved and wanted *and* live under better economic conditions (including the healthcare needed to make sure they survive past

Have you ever stopped to think what it’s like to be an unwanted child? A child whose parents can offer it neither love nor basic necessities like food and shelter? Because you really have this selfish and evil thing all backwards.

What about religions that mandate abortion if the fetus (not a person until birth) threatens the life or health of the mother? No 1st Amendment rights for us?

Because Dems really want to be labeled as obstructionist in 2020. Not block bad legislation as it comes up, not shame Republicans for crappy bills and refusing to work for the good of the country, not obstruct for clearly explained reasons. What they want to do is give Trump a soundbite for why nothing else will get

It was very weird to see a candidate for a NYC district run on doing something about the opioid epidemic as their 2nd most effective talking point after health care. I hope Max Rose does focus on that in Congress.

In tears too. Hope all these amazing people stay in line and make their voices heard and save our country.

Looks like. Though I’d argue this just means we need better educated young people.

OK, I have to ask - why Iraq?

Well, your mileage may differ. I walked in not expecting much. But found he has an amazing way to make boring political detail relatable. I’m sure for policy wonks this is nothing. But not everyone is.

I did. But I was responding to your comment. I don’t think they should retire from public life. I actually agree that Bill Clinton is not helping any candidates. Hillary I think has chosen to not stump for any candidates on her own, and is fundraising instead. But I would love to see both (continue to) comment on

The Clintons have amazing connections, and have done and continue to do a lot of good. Why should they retire?

Ever heard Bill Clinton talk? He’s pretty damn engaging. He has a whole bunch of shortcomings, but he’s an amazing communicator.

Good to hear your building management knows the laws. Hope the complaining people come to realize that canvassing (and other protected speech) is why we can still have some nice things.

These people don’t realize canvassing is protected speech. We had some guy in a MAGA truck (with, allegedly, guns) tell us we can’t *solicit* in a somewhat gated community in 2016.

The new polls for under 29 turnout are too good to be true, but wouldn’t it be amazing if the young people did show up...

I think in France it’s pretty necessary. In the US, there isn’t the same history of anti-Semitism (not that it didn’t exit, but Americans didn’t wipe out 2/3 of their Jewish population in one decade), so there’s less of a sense of threat, in general. I hope last week’s events don’t completely change that.

I mean the Bible sort of is a global Jewish conspiracy. /s

I don’t think it’s a a lot of Jew - we overwhelmingly vote Democrat. I do have Trump-supporting family members in Pittsburgh. I honestly don’t think this will change their minds - they are Fox News zombies.

Many NYC synagogues have armed guards and metal detectors (don’t know if the ultra-orthodox ones do), as do Jewish museums here, but in Pittsburgh this has not been the case. Squirrel Hill is a very safe and very Jewish neighborhood, so I’m sure up until now it was just not an issue.

Remember 2016, with all the crap being thrown at Hillary Clinton, and people saying if only Elizabeth Warren had run, she’d be the cleanest candidate ever? Funny that.
