I’m not diminishing his achievements at all. I’m just saying they don’t stack up to Jordan’s because no one’s achievements do.

Your whole premise is wrong.
Jezebel.
Okay let me put it this way:
I don’t know why anyone thought this was a “Group of Death”. There was a clear best team and then three teams that are all within touching distance of one another, with the U.S. being the home team.
But the group itself was not the “Group of Death” it was labelled. As the home team, we should have advanced and we did.
Right and that’s fine. I guess what I’m saying is not all semi-final appearances are equal and that we shouldn’t act like Klinsmann has turned some huge corner. The team is just doing what they should have always been doing.
I suppose thats fair.
Calling it the Group of Death was incorrect.
Why? We are the home team in a group with only one team that was superior to us.
Great win is a stretch. Ecuador is exactly the type of team we should beat at home.
The U.S. is simply meeting expectations.
