Not to mention that the person doing the rating might have been the one to be an asshole. Though honestly, I'm betting this gets more publicity than actual users.

Yeah, nothing makes sense even if you try to imagine their perspective (or if another frat did play a trick on them). And their dumb asses had to pay for and mail 79 packages to do it. To have a mail carrier have to make several trips. Even if it was another frat, the joke is what, making them throw away packages?

I have very little sympathy for Lindy on this issue. This issue isn't the same as when she received horrible comments from being on TV. Lindy is constantly engaging idiots on twitter and having back and forth arguments. And it has nothing to do with her not being able to ignore them because she's polite. She

Thank God it's at least going up. But it's still a national tragedy how much sexual assault is covered up.

Very much so. Honestly, the Slate piece reads like she thought it was a right wing missive from an evangelical school.

I'm thinking he meant Bobby Hurley, as no person in his right mind would want to punch The Brain (especially now that he has no jaw due to cancer surgery).

Agreed. If someone wants attention for their proposal, then they can have at it. Nobody there has to clap if they don't want to, and nobody has to watch the videos of proposals.

That's a big part of the problem. The big studios are not in the profit business anymore, which is why they don't want to make medium-sized films with the chance of profit. They make their money by pre-financing most of the budget and using marketing tie ins, tax credits/incentives, in-house spending, and accounting

I think it's the fact it's so Hispanic is a big reason why San Antonio gets overlooked. 65% of the residents are Hispanic, and as you mentioned, it's a huge destination spot for people from Mexico and parts South. If the author was named Sam Gonzalez, he'd probably know a lot more about SA than places like Milwaukee

The especially galling part is how they use the overpopulation of minorities in prison as their reasoning. Minorities are stopped more, arrested more, convicted more, and get longer sentences. They're are using the effects of institutionalized racism to argue that there's no institutional racism. Ugh.

The part I don't like about blog writing in general, which tends to happen here at Jezebel, is the use of ALL CAPS, italics, bold, and tons of exclamation points. I don't care about the maturity level or formality of the article, but to me it dilutes the power of their words.

I feel like people do criticize that. Seinfeld was consistently criticized for the women Jerry and George could get. The King of Queens was always criticized for Kevin James being able to get.....whatshername. The trope has finally gotten to where it's acknowledge by critics over the past 20 years.

Lindy, I tend to disagree with a lot of your comedy arguments, but I'm really sorry you're being attacked like this. You deserve much better. I hope they aren't taking money out of your pocket by keeping you from working.

I fight about comedy because other people are wrong, and the world won't start spinning again unless I correct them.

Stop trying to make bugs happen.

Well, we at least agree that most articles about comedy rules are misguided....even if you're totally wrongedy wrong about Louis CK.

I loved her point about people bringing up Louis CK's jokes (paraphrased)- You're not Louis CK. You probably don't want to invite comparisons to him.

I think there's two reasons. 1. Whenever there is a controversy about what a public figure or celebrity says, there's also a drive to have him or her fired from the job. You're asking people who disagree to understand the nuance of who is just criticizing and who wants more action beyond the criticism.

I think it's compelling to appeal to consensus sometimes. Like in this case- if it makes sense to point out how many people in the audience have been assaulted, then it also matters if they laughed or not. It doesn't mean the joke is always ok, but it does make things less black and white.
