@ShakespeareGeek:The human mind can recognize things in up to three without counting (this idea is paraphrased, but you get the point) After that, we have to "count". Therefore making things in groups of three the largest 'easiest' groups to remember.

I was actually thinking about this at work today. Office 2003 even has graphics for doors (as you see in floor plans: swinging) and other items. I haven't checked 2007 yet, will tomorrow and report back.
