Methinks the writer working for a site that regularly spams us with tacky garbage shared from Deals protests too much.

They offered then a pretty good settlement considering they were found not liable already and were clearly not at fault. And the plaintiffs didn’t take it.

The initial lawsuit was pretty damn frivolous, though.

Yeah, but they’re banking on the fact that if you have “Royal Household” on your cv, you could work in any fancy shmancy household in the world, and they'd have you just for bragging rights. Stay a year or two, and move on up.

There’s no height distinction in sports, so tossing out Phelps and Bolt doesn’t really work.

I think the argument is more that Semenya should be competing against men instead of women. IIRC, she has internal testicles and is intersex.

The issue here is that Semenya’s testosterone levels are beyond that 10 nmol/L...which is already significantly beyond what the “average” woman’s levels are, even a woman with PCOS. Semenya also had internal testes and was (if I remember correctly) XY. She was raised female based on her external genitalia. Her

The levels they banned are way above PCOS:

Here is my question: is a female athlete allowed to supplement her testosterone levels to match her hyperandrogenic rivals? Because if the answer is ‘no’ then they are stating that testosterone DOES have an effect on performance. You can’t have it both ways.

It doesn’t sound like any of the rapes occurred through the Uber app- first, as you say, there’s the “no money for a ride” BS, but also the Uber app tracks the driver and their licence plate for every trip, so it wouldn’t have taken a victim remembering the licence plate number to catch him had it been happening via

Everyone should watch the video first before being able to comment.

As much as it might make a nice story, everything I’ve seen/read about this incident looks to come down to Occam’s Razor: one person was standing in the middle of the street, got hit by a driver not paying attention, then the driver was stopped further down the road, other protesters took chase and began firing, and

Agreed with all of that, but I’m still stuck on why are we protesting the death of a guy who robbed a convenience store then assaulted and tried to grab an officer’s gun?

If you’re opening fire at a car within a large group of fellow protesters, you are an huge prolasped asshole too and surely not a “good guy with a gun”. Especially if you are firing after the car passed.

Are you serious? The motorist who accidentally hit someone is worse than the person who took out a gun and tried to intentionally murder someone?

This is going to be seen by many as an attempt to derail the conversation or to discredit BLM. It really isn’t. This isn’t directed at that group specifically.

the local stl paper is reporting the driver is cooperating, did not know of the rally and the street wasn’t full of people at the time, just a few. She didn’t see the person in the road that got hit until it was too late-and fled when people started shooting at her.

How about the asshole(s) that fired 20+ rounds at a car? You know, the piece of shit that tried to murder someone and risked the lives of numerous other people.

Hopefully they catch them and the person or persons who fired guns. If they were, in fact, among the demonstrators, they aren’t only being horribly reckless but endangering the reputation of a movement that absolutely does not need this right now.

Jia, you are not good at your job.
