I think they would've been fine just keeping the current malibu and redesigning the front, which is awful. I think the current one is actually prety goodlooking if you cover up the front end. The rest of the car is sleek then you get to the front and it looks like it was pushed into a wall.

NASCAR deals with 4-5G at every corner, well over 150 MPH, much worse visibility, and tempuratures over 100 degrees for 3+ hours. Im not saying NASCAR is harder than F1 on the driver, but its closer than you would think.
