They’re “trying” repeatedly (and conveniently failing) because they’ve hyped up their base around the issue. But they know that if repeal actually happened, the cognitive dissonance they’ve nurtured would be broken, and a lot of the same folks would come back at them asking where their health insurance went. It’s the

I feel like it could be a bit more subtle. I mean, it has to be really windy for leaves to blow around like that.

Thank you, I agree. They introduce crappy legislation in a sleezy way and this allows a few moderates to oppose and back it but the rest of the party to ride the “see we tried, we hate Obamacare too guys” line and hang on to their Trump voter base.

I think you are giving the GOP too much credit for coordination. I am sure a lot of GOP legislators do not want to take away healthcare and fully realize what a repeal of Obamacare would mean for their constituents. I do not think Ryan is one of them.

Never underestimate GOP voters’ ability to blame Democrats for things that Republicans did, with no attempt to hide it, at that. The cognitive dissonance is strong with them.

In reality, his latest comments on the issue are hardly credible given everything this administration and Trump’s own party have done lately to take healthcare coverage away from millions of Americans.

Supplies are limited. I mean not everyone will drive Porsche in their life. That doesn’t mean they should be able to steal one off the dealers lot.

It’s still an intellectual property that comes with rights and legal precedents. If it goes out into public domain, sure, I see no harm or foul. Otherwise, it still belongs to someone. Even if they decide to shelve it or let it languish. It’s their right as the owner.

If all you’ve said is true, then I’m sure everything will be a-okay for gun owners in the end. :D

You really think 2/3rds of the house AND senate would agree to repeal the 2nd amendment and then 38 states would agree to it?

And it’s precisely this type of bullshit that will eventually lead to the gun industry killing itself. Since they refuse to hold back at all, the only real solution is going to be the most extreme one, amending the constitution to invalidate or otherwise cut the balls off the 2nd amendment. You’d think they might

I do think the article makes a point about his coziness with some right-wing Youtube personalities which bothered me. But the article practically makes it sound like he is one of them, which he really isn’t.

so it’s a “hitpiece” now to plainly describe videos which someone PUBLICLY FUCKING UPLOADED for millions of people to watch? jesus fucking christ. how do you even dress yourself when you’re that goddamn stupid?

Yeah, so she’s up against a hard break, but has time to cut Brokaw off and make her own little speech about how there are two sides to the issue. Sounds plausible!

The reason why Replicants may make sense for tasks that humans could do is because they could be instantly repurposed for any such task, whereas specific industrial machines, designed to do one thing as efficiently as possible, could not.

But automated systems would have (admittedly depending on the task) much higher productivity rates than humans (or Replicants). So yes, there’s large upfront costs, as well as maintenance costs, but you should be getting more for your money.

That is the specific culture they (devs) have to deal with though.

Not that I expect the response to be any different than we’re used to, but it will be interesting to see how 2nd amendment fanatics respond to the fact that this happened at a country music festival.

I love how so many people now accept “surge pricing” as a concept, even though it’s some arbitrary algorithm Uber came up with, supposedly to model “market forces” in a neutral, detached way, but in reality just to line their own pockets with exorbitant mark-ups on service prices.

Again, I just think this is all such a “given”, especially on Kotaku, that it’s inoffensive to me to see it paraphrased as ‘gamer culture.’
