The first five points each have some merit, but number six is just not accurate in my and millions of other people’s experience. You can think otherwise and I won’t try to dissuade you, but the evidence just isn’t there to support it.

I mean, Ninety-9 isn’t entirely wrong in his comparison between Tesla and Apple with their respective customers. This latest FSD BS is a similar kind of shade/stunt Apple was pulling with iPhones not long a with an OS update that slowed them down to prolong battery life without actually telling the users. Apple also…
Hi from my 6 year old PC desktop! My 13 year old XP running 2nd PC I built for $600 also says hello. From my experience, the vast majority of issues on PCs are user-related. That said I know lots of MAC owners who have had as many hardware issues as PC owners (HD failures but also RAM issues) and as for iPhones…
All they have to do is disable DC fast charge because “the car is too old and FC is now dangerous”. It’ll kill the value of all the old Teslas. The problem is Tesla has everyone by the balls because the control who can and can’t fast charge or charge at all on their network.
Most car companies. Documentation to repair the car is now behind a paywall. There are no printed manuals anymore. Many parts in cars these days need to be registered to the ECU using factory diagnostic tools too. I’d say we’re well on the way to black box disposable cars.
I’m typing this on a 2014 iMac that is functioning quite well, thanks. You can take your comparison, fold it and stick where it causes the most pain.
defeats the purpose of not having dealers :p
I’m just waiting for the day that Tesla remotely disables your heated seats because you’re running outdated hardware.
Tesla continues to act like trash, weird nerds continue to defend Elon: Film at Eleven.
There was a point that I understood why people bought Tesla’s. A friend of mine was one of those early adopters, and has an early (2013, I think) Model S. Other that the known door handle issue, his has been trouble free for over 100k miles, and still has a healthy battery. His car was supposed to drive itself in a…
100 per cent, this is my issue with Tesla. You pay big money today and you don’t really know what the future holds. I’ve read an awful lot about Teslas just outside their warranty having big time battery issues and expensive “hardware” issues. How can a Tesla owner ever be sure that any issues outside of warranty…
My thoughts exactly. By now people know what they are getting into and willfully choosing it. I don’t blame Tesla for continuing not to care... it seems that their customers don’t.

Musk didn’t invent Tesla, he booted the original founder out after acquiring stake in it.
He’s not an engineer.
What makes Tesla successful has been Silicon Valley valuation of their stock and comparing them to a software startup when they’re actually creating physical products.
I think Tesla’s hardest days are ahead of them. As the mainstream manufacturers start selling EVs that rival Tesla, the only differentiator keeping Tesla afloat will be the SuperCharger network and AutoPilot (if/when it is ever finished).
I don’t think they should turn into Ford or the like either, because like you said they do have their own unique image and space in the automotive sphere. That could be maintained even with a different CEO. He said himself he doesn’t like running the company. He’s always going to be associated with Tesla, but I think…
Personally I find Musk to be about as authentic as imitation cheese, but I feel that way about all billionaires, not just him. At any rate I still think changes are going to need to happen at Tesla thanks to competition from the major automakers. Despite my dislike for Musk, I still want the company to succeed. I…
First Gear:
Is anybody surprised Elon doesn’t like day to day management? He wants to fantasize about going to Mars, not think of new quality assurance processes. I have to admit that I wouldn’t either if I were in his shoes.
