This is not about attacking interracial relationships. It’s about asking why there seem to be so many movies/tv series depicting an interracial relationship between a an Asian man and a white woman lately, and why they are usually framed in a specific way and so few between any other possible combination including

This type of interracial true story is told over and over again, though. Black and white, Asian and white, etc. The message is always the same: The women who look like you are not as big of a prize as the white women.

This article really does seem to come off as concern-trolling because they don’t want to come across as a bigot.

As a Pakistani woman myself, I can give this movie a pass for that reason. But either way, I’m tired of seeing brown love interests in American media being passed up for white love interests, mostly because they are portrayed as one-sided caricatures. It’s the same problem I have with Mindy Kaling’s show.

I don’t hate biracial people. Im just sick of women of color getting left behind, set aside overlook hell just never the one.
