VIOLET CRUMBLE 4EVER. It is the only candy bar I’m willing to shell out $4 for.

The answer as to why the US spends less on food is because it has the least amount of restrictions on food and has no long term interest in the populace's health.

For those of you wondering why I linked to the map rather than posting it: since it's Vox's map using the USDA's data (rather than the USDA's map itself), I'd really, really prefer not to get our pants sued off.

Thelma and Louise, The Menopause Years….

I did manage to stay pretty clean, aside from the sweat. The pic was taken around noon from memory, so pretty early in the day.

I forgot that I had the onesie in my profile pic. Somehow CA managed to get a better shot of it without my knowledge than my mate standing a metre away did. We also made it into the Daily Telegraph during the walk up Foveaux st towards the SCG, and interviewed by Channel 10 just outside the ground. Unsurprising

Just to clarify quickly, 'Hey Hey' was ridiculous and deserved everything they got. In case it wasn't clear that's what I meant.

I certainly understand the whole fried chicken thing, but that isn't a thing in Australia. The only reason anyone knows about it is through American media. The US can often get caught up in thinking that the rest of the white people in the world have the same racial issues that they do, when they are very different.

I can still see Harry Connick Junior's look of disgust and panic when that act came out. I have a sibling that worked for CA during that period. A storm in a teacup!

That doesn't change the fact that it isn't named after a racial term. Why should they have to change 80 years of branding because of a word that at the time was not a racial slur and is in no way connected to it? People being offended by it are ignorant to it's history and etymology. Ignorance isn't a good reason to

It is used here in Australia hence a lot of Indigenous people find the name deeply upsetting. Look, i buy coon cheese- you get 1kg for like half the price of other cheese and I am but a humble servant of the cheese god.

That was so ridiculous. KFC is a major sponsor of WI cricket, to the point that there is a KFC stand at one of their cricket grounds (I think it was in Barbados, but can't remember). As to the point about other countries, IIRC they did pretty much the same ad with English fans as well, but no one wanted to hear about

I agree. Racism is bad, but so is american linguistic imperialism.

I remember when KFC ran ads in Australia where the guy went to the cricket in he West Indies and shared his chicken with the locals and America bitched about "African American" stereotypes until we took it off the air.

For me, this is the question. Who does that to another person? Who needs to make a buck so badly that they are like "Wait a minute...I KNOW!!" I know there are desperate situations, but I really hope karma comes back to that lady. I haven't read the article yet, but I am curious if she faced any charges.

Except it's named after the Cooning process, developed by Edward Coon. Are we unable to differentiate between a surname and a racial slur?

Fair enough, sorry if I was overly dickish in my comment. To demonstrate my appreciation at your prompt response I will knock one hundred dollars off the cost of my bridge. That leaves the asking price at all of your bank account, minus 100 dollars.

I think you have been duped by this Troy West character.

Isn't coon only an American pejorative?

She better not try riding a bike in Germany.
