Agreed. Not like it's hard to make nice photos of girls and kids doing rad stuff.

This also made my friends and me nuts....so we decided to do something about it, and just founded Misadventures Magazine, "by and for adventurous women." We've got some surfing material up already, but we're also covering the whole spectrum of kickass women adventurers, if you want to take a peek! www.misadventuresmag.…
As someone who works in branding, I suspect that's because Roxy makes more money as a "lifestyle" brand than with legitimate surfers. It definitely sucks that they're alienating the people they hold as their aspirational ideal in the process though.
Haha, I guess that would make it more difficult. As a straight woman in an engineering program at large university, the world should have been my oyster, I guess. We had a joke in our department, "The odds are good, but the goods are odd." I didn't find a mate, not that I was particularly thinking about it.
No doubt she does. Don't know why - it worked for me.
The complaint asked that the entire act be declared unconstitutional and in violation of section 1983, so she had the opportunity to rule on the whole thing. She could've declared the whole act unconstitutional, but instead she only struck specific portions, and denied relief on the rest.
I'm with you to an extent. I think it's absolutely horrible that they rescinded her offer. They could have come back to her and tried to talk to her and explain why some of her requests weren't possible. And yes, the maternity leave thing is fishy and makes it seem that it might not have been the best working…
Since women mature at, like, 11, and men at about 42, it's not surprising.
Ring + wedding won't get you a house in Boston or DC either (though it will get you closer than it would in SF or NYC.)
Even an engagement ring VASTLY more expensive than the one I am rockin' would not provide a sufficient downpayment on a home. DAMN YOU, NY METRO REAL ESTATE!!!!!
I'm not a parent either, but I'd be even more concerned about my own death than the death of my baby. Everything about pregnancy and childbirth horrifies, terrifies, and disgusts me, so I would want to be in a room with as many trained medical professionals as possible in case something goes wrong.
The problem with giving birth at home or in a birthing centre- even if it is REALLY close to the hospital- is that when birth goes badly, minutes count. This means that if you aren't physically in the hospital when the shit hits the fan, it's going to take at least twenty minutes (and realistically, longer than that)…
I thought you were going to agree to the mom jeans part
I think you're giving Sarah Palin waaaaayyyy too much credit for the nuance and critical thought that went into your line of thinking.
There is nothing Obama could do that would appease conservatives. Like in Syria, he was basically accused of being a saber-rattling warmonger. Yet in Libya, he was accused of making America lead from behind. I'd like more decisiveness, but he is fucked no matter what he does or says.
That was an incredibly unfunny skit.
I thought it was the best she could do in her situation. She thanked him without getting ass kissy about it which you guys know would have caused some crazy backlash.
I'm sure that breast milk is healthier just like whole foods are healthier than processed, but I am also glad to see some balance. I have been watching a friend go through hell with her new baby because of breast feeding problems. She wasn't producing enough and her baby couldn't latch. Even the la leche ladies were…
Seriously. I fly private for work twice a week and I'm so freaking spoiled now. I have a looooong coach flight coming up next week and I know I'm going to be like "why are all these other people touching me?"
I've flown private for work related reasons and not going through security threw me off like crazy.
