I owned the original Passat “GT” back when it was called the GLX with the delightful VR6 engine, upgraded suspension, steering, and braking bits. 1993 model with 5MT. Great fun to drive. Terrible to pay for the upkeep past about 5 years old...

No worries. More for me, as they say. I wish everybody shared your opinion, then I could have all the 928s for myself... :)
You’re right. About being unpopular, that is.
That’s the button which tells the chauffer to present you with the menu. The leather bound menu with lobster, caviar and such on it.
Nude pictures? Boy these dealership background checks have gotten invasive....
I have to fundamentally disagree. If performance cars were simply meant to go as fast as possible there wouldn’t be anything but extreme performance cars. No standard 911. No 911S. No GTS. No 911 Turbo. No GT3 RS. Only the Turbo S.
I think you’re kinda arguing against your own premise now. Previously we agreed that electric performance cars represent the apex of automotive technology (and by your premise should represent the performance model for each brand) so any talk of paddle shifters and gear selection should be moot.
One could argue that being able to push a vehicle to its limits should require a manual transmission. Using the most technologically advanced configuration available isn’t testing limits, it’s relying on tech wizardry to do things the driver cannot. Since three pedals are becoming unusual and therefore exclusive…
By that logic shouldnt the performance model of every brand be all-electric? Or shit, maybe self-driving? Technical prowess and all....
Me. It’s an improvement. i8 is fugly right out of the factory, both in design and color scheme.
If they offered them here they’d sell every one which came off the ship.
There are too many humans and too much pollution was my point. But you already get that.
Don’t steal the H. That’s how you know it’s a Honda!
Cheap gas. When gas is “cheap” Americans love bloat.
Too bad they didn’t have a crystal ball to tell them to set the type over a readable background...
Was the first gen Accord really in a different size class than a VW beetle? My first car was a ‘72 Bug and I rode around in friends 2-door Accords and I found them quite similar for interior room.
I’m fine with seat belts or any other tech which doesn’t dramatically change fuel economy.
If you’re trying took argue that I did, in fact, die in one of those old “unsafe”cars, well I don’t think your case will be easy to prove.
I’d be happy to sacrifice the extra safety weight in order to have more fuel efficiency. I never died once while driving/riding in the old “unsafe” cars, and not for a lack of crashing. And if I had, so what? This planet is already lousy with humans, to the point of approaching unsustainability. Give me better fuel…
