That is not true. Citizens arrests are an actual thing. Mall cops and Wal-Mart security guards are legally allowed to detain you if they catch you committing a crime. It depends on the state, but in many states literally any citizen can detain you if they see you in the act of committing a felony.

What’s the big problem with this? It’s not like the Catholic church has ever had to hide anything criminal, or done so in a systematic, institutionalized fashion that stigmatized and traumatized its victims. Nope, not to my recollection.

That is so unbelievably wrong, it’s hilarious.
