I can’t find the rules for this anywhere, and I’m really curious if they use items or not. I hope they do because playing without them kills the soul of Mario Kart even more than it kills Smash Bros.

I don’t think Fatal Push would have really hurt that much. Infect ran 6-8 protection spells and country’s, and most decks weren’t increasing the number of kill spells because of Push; they were just putting it in place of Terminate or Dreadbore.

You’re right, it’s not as fast, but that’s the issue. Before the Gitaxian Probe ban Infect was the best choice if you wanted to play an aggro deck, but that little bit of speed it lost means it’s now slightly slower than the other big aggro deck: Death’s Shadow.

Fatal Push isn’t what dropped Infect from the best deck to questionable tier 2. It was the Gitaxian Probe ban.

Modern is in such a great place right now, but that can change at the drop of a hat. Let’s not forget that just over a year ago literally 50% of the modern meta was Eldrazi before they banned Eye of Ugin.

I agree to a point but this situation is slightly different.

One of the most popular decks in Modern right now is a combo deck.

It’s not better for a variety of different reasons, but the most important is that Deceiver Exarch is 4 toughness and much harder to kill, and Splinter Twin is an enchantment instead of a Planeswalker. It’s much harder to disrupt the combo.
