I really hope “tongue but hole” or “tight spot ahead therefore try thrusting” are in there.

Especially since she...

The best way I’ve heard it described is “the easy parts are harder and the hard parts are easier.” I wouldn’t say the game is significantly harder. I’d say it’s more balanced. Vanilla DS2 had some weird difficulty spikes at times.

I may have to forgo picking it up then. I bought a copy on Wii and never got around to playing it, but I ended up selling it for about $150 when that boom happened. I thought this would be a good way to experience it, as I prefer my JRPGs portable anyway, but it sounds like a sloppy port.

Not really because it dropped into what appeared to be a bottomless black hole.

I got the Blood Rock and had no idea that Living String was a thing until NG+ when a friend told me about it.

I’m 99% sure Bloodborne does this, as has every Souls game. If you summon help it gives the boss 50% more health. There are some bosses where that extra 50% (or 100% with two phantoms) actually makes it preferable to not co-op, like the Four Kings in Dark Souls.

I didn't realize you had made the same type of joke. I think you posted yours as I was typing mine.

I think GoldenEye was my first as well. I love it and it's what got me into the series, but it's not my favorite. Sometimes I do throw it into my top 5, though. It probably averages #6.

Decent list for the most part! I'd personally move Dr. No out of the top 5 to make room for OHMSS (and possibly shuffle around FRWL and Skyfall) and replace You Only Live Twice with Octopussy. As for my Bond rankings?

Where does Bloodborne ultimately rank, then, among the Souls games?

Which was TERRIFYING the first time I fought her.

The OP makes it seem worse than it actually is; you can’t attack through solid walls, but something like, say, a door frame won’t affect your attack animation unless your beating it with the base of your weapon. Some enemies won’t follow you through doors, but that’s because they literally cannot fit through the doors.

Rereading my comment I see that it doesn’t really say what I meant. I meant to say that they don’t look down on people who do summon help, even if they don’t necessarily do it themselves. I think the only problem is when people realize a boss is coming up and immediately summon without even attempting it a few times

As great as “Amazing chest ahead” was in DS1, my personal favorite was from Dark Souls 2: “Tongue but hole.”

You’re in a very small minority there. Even the most hardcore of Souls players are usually 100% ok with summoning people for bosses.

They have a tendency to get stuck in doors. If you’re having trouble, try leading them to a smallish door and then using a weapon with longer range. Either that, or try to bait the kick and then stagger and visceral attack him.

Yeah we had the same password. The next day I tried again and it still didn't work. We waited about five minutes before another friend decided to try. He made it in almost instantly. We were all with ten levels of each other.

I attempted to summon a friend of mine in the Forbidden Woods but we waited for 10 minutes before giving up. The online play is hit or miss in this one so far.

Surprised no one has mentioned Plug In Baby. Dat riff.
