Is that truly what you are trying to do? Understand? Because from my perspective it seems as if you are trying to tell people how they should act and react. Understanding starts with actually listening and that means that you sometimes have to deal with other people's anger at a situation that you may or may not

Your comment is just further proof of how little you know or care about urban communities. If you had any idea, it would be even simpler to realize exactly what he is talking about.

I think the mistake is thinking empathy means you get the chance to tell how YOU feel. I was always taught that empathy is about (trying to) understanding the feeling of others. You're doing a crappy job at it if you go straight to why you're offended by how other people feel

It's not that you cannot have an opinion, its that some people seem to think that they know what is best for others. It would be like me, having taking a class on the holocaust telling German Jews what they should have done. There is no class that will allow you direct access into the Black experience in America.

So if they had made up an Asian nation and not mentioned Kim by name, you really think North Korea would still be offended? A better question to ask yourself is, if it was a Russian film about two idiots trying to kill W Bush, Mericans wouldn't be all butt hurt "let's invade them!"

I'm pretty sure that's why I love her!

I can understand what you are saying, but part of me is giving you side eye. I'm hoping your not saying she's not black enough - I'm pretty sure that you're not. But I can't help but flash back to the other black women that assume I have fake locs because they don't look like how theirs look

Isn't this the same woman whose implying that her and Idris were in a relationship? Not to say that wasn't true, but she seems a little thirsty

Don't know what it is about her that brings to mind the worse things about my favorite groups from the 90s? Not a fan at all

I thought the model label was hilarious given that she's 5'1

Would you prefer that her kid cry throughout the ceremony? Cause everybody loves a screaming baby but everyone hates to be reminded that boobs actually have a purpose outside of entertaining men!

Is there another New York Times that you are referring to? Or are you asking me to defer knowledge of gentrification to an publication that has some serious issues in terms of diversity? We are talking about a neighborhood were the houses routinely sold for over $700K BEFORE the Barclay's center was built. If

I find it interesting that you complain about people bashing Taylor and then go on to bash Jay-Z. (and as someone who lives in Brooklyn and has paid a lot of attention to the Barclay Center project I call complete and utter bs on the gentrification angle. You wanna spout off about eminent domain go right ahead)

A lot of suppositions in your respons - why not stick to the facts. Girl wanted a service. Girl got drunk and hit yes to a crazy price. Girl cries "It's not my fault! It was my birthday" people blame the corporation cause it could never be the drunk girls fault.

I actually got an email on Halloween from Uber warning that it was going to be busy that night and that surge pricing would more than likely be in effect. I'm not saying Uber is perfect, but sounds like the blame is with her

I once asked a woman sitting next to me on the A train to stop clipping her nails. Her response was "Why, did I get you?" A lady sitting across from us was more than happy to answer on my behalf "Because its something that you shouldn't do in public!"

Except they suspended, not cancelled the contract. They can reactivate him at any time

I'm picturing a lot of "wool blends" that consist mostly of polyester and rayon

Yes, dressing your age is dead, but a middle-aged career woman simply cannot stock her closet from H&M alone. She needs things they're just not set up to provide.

except no one is clicking on the Ferguson articles, which is what I thought the point of this article was.
