I think in a year or 2 the Ford Maverick will make much more sense. Let the hype settle down, let some get onto dealer lots for test drives, it'll be fine.

About the Demon. It’s a car for the lowest common denominator in a car enthusiast. Knuckle dragging, Pabst swilling, Kid Rock listening, trailer park dwelling rednecks who need to have the highest HP so they can brag at the local watering hole.
How can you have a cruise ship with NO COLD DRINKS??
but how can you have a ship buffet with no cold cuts?
Probably looked at the cost of transport from San Juan and cheaped out.
That’s just good sense I would argue.
Wait, what else were they supposed to do? If their Morgue refrigeration unit breaks, there is not much else to be done. Either throw him overboard or find another solution. I do feel like this a money grab by relatives.
Plug-ins are for:
I will never stop calling Erik a terrible automotive journalist, and reminding people that he drove around for months with his high beams on because he didn’t want to/couldn’t replace the headlight bulb in his Fit. How did Jalopnik lose great writers like Fancy Kristen, Torch, and David Tracy but he’s still around?
The Miami New Times reports that the morgue corpse fridge broke down. That took me less than 3 minutes to google.
Broken down car out there might be a good point (although again, preventative maintenance might go a long way without knowing anything about the car other than it being an ‘08 Taurus). But as the delta in fuel economy between smaller and larger cars tends to be smaller on the highway versus in town, I’m still not sure…
Those D3 Tauruses are pretty solid cars and seem to run pretty well without too much heartburn. Honestly, given the budget and the apparent dearth of choices in Bozeman, putting a few bucks into the current ride might be the smartest play. Keep it on the road another 2-3 years, get out of school into a paying gig,…
This is the right answer, imo. If the Taurus is “long in the tooth” but still reliable, keep on driving that sucker. The used car market is so hot right now, despite recent (very slight) cooling off, that $10k isn’t going to get you a vast improvement on the Taurus, I fear. Like, I’m driving a 2009 Pontiac right now.…
This. Unless it is having mechanical issues keep the old car.
And probably has issues. The whole Pacific NW and intermountain West prices used Subarus at unobtainium levels.
Yep. 10k buys a lot of gas.
the devil you know...
i grew up in illinois in the 80s. FWD cars with good snow tires are just fine. even better with narrow tires!
The Fiesta is a manual.
2002 Ford. When a 2008 Ford is too old.
