I thought I’d hate it but I don’t.

I mean, here we let people utilize our laws, resources, economic system, patent/trademark/copyright protections, etc. to accumulate enough wealth to literally shoot themselves into space for fucking fun, while we simultaneously rely on crowdfunding to pay for children’s cancer diagnoses.

Like a racetrack you mean? Hmmm.....

This glorious bastard right here:

Blame the commercial/fleet market for that, not “America’s stigma against vans”. That ultimately was the van’s bread and butter. The private passenger version was always an afterthought and honestly unless you really really preferred it’s size there was little compelling reason to buy one over a traditional minivan.

The Mazda5. It was a rare vehicle with the parent-friendly sliding rear doors that hadn’t morphed into a 4,500 pound behemoth. You could even get it with a stick, which other minivans had stopped offering a generation ago. The Transit was the only other vehicle comparable to it, but of course it has also gone the way

You seem fun.

One thing about Yugos: Whenever I see them placed on an “ugly cars” or “ugliest cars” list/book, I immediately conclude that the author has no credibility. They simply include the Yugo out of sheer laziness.

Of all the problems the Yugo arguably had, styling was not one of them. It’s a very conservative, aesthetically

Oh fer fucks sake, you live in texas. Just buy a used beater truck. Spend 10K on something to haul parts and drive through water and if it gets ruined, it’s practically disposable. Then spend 50k on something nice.

You want to haul car parts - you want a truck with a bed.  You don’t want domestic - you want  Toyota.  Take your pick Taco or Tundra.

I am with you on that.  For the money, there are several more attractive and better built options in the next 1-3 years.

First gear: I don’t believe a single word that comes out of that dude’s mouth. Musk is a perfect example of why CEOs need to keep their mouths shut when it comes to anything other than legitimate business discussions. He is the primary reason I will never buy a Tesla.

Fourth gear:
Too little, too late. People have

WAY TO GO, JOE!

it looks like the Inflation Reduction Act’s goal of getting more EVs built in the US seems to be doing it’s job. whether that stays true as time goes on we will have to see.

These new Corolla and Camry models are crazy good values.

Honestly this is extremely tempting as a commuter car. Extremely tempting.

Rock Auto is your friend.

It was on the Riviera/Toronado/Eldorado E-platform.

“...these cars have a very narrow audience.”

Isn’t this the quintessential brown wagon that the Jalops here salivate over?
