I just realized this was 20+ years ago, sh*t I’m old. VA still has its share of die hard racists, but most people are smart enough these days to keep their mouths shut because it’s bad for business. VA is sometimes... complicated. Not from here, but most of adult life is here now. I know my privilege but I sometimes

Shiz I’m white as a ghost and I’m 99% sure me and a friend were pulled over in rural VA (not too far from Charlottesville) several years ago for suspicion of DWB b/c we were in a car with DC plates. Passing thru the area, went down a side road (off 29?) to see if friend’s college friend was home. Cop had somebody

yeah this is pretty much where paranoia and gun fetishism gets you- and the solution is always, more guns!

You can’t use facts and data to argue with certain kinds of people. It’s just a waste of time. That’s one great revelation of my job over the past few years. I’m not spending my time and energy trying to change the minds of people who are not capable of change or being convinced. Bigger fish to fry, f’em.

I approve of this.

I haven’t driven it yet, but one of the things I like about the Civic Hybrid is it has the steering wheel flippers, but for regen not for shifting. I know it’s not the same as a DCT or a manual, but it’s *some* human engagement with the machine, probably enough for me, and way better than shoving a PRNDL lever back

OTOH, I went to a movie last Tuesday, went to Costco first to get chicken and a few other things. It was 35 and I didn’t hesitate to leave it in my trunk while I was at the movie. In the winter I often put food out on my balcony to cool down before I put it in the fridge.

It sucks living so close to a trailer park.

I have 2 engine mounts to install in Focus. Easy job, but it’s just too cold and I’m not in the mood.

IYKYK. You don’t.

Is Dacia entwined in this? I kind of like their cheapie cars and I know they had Renault ties.

I learned it because my log told me yesterday.

“..if it has great acceleration, I’m interested.”

All bad answers. Get a brand-new full-warranty Civic Hybrid in Sport Touring Trim. OTD she’ll still be well under budget.

I never seriously thought of buying a motorcycle, but I was quite smitten when I saw the Meteor a few years ago. RE bikes are a contrast to the bikes (and people who ride them) who are instant turnoffs to me: 1) Harley’s of course, and 2) I know this is offensive, but when I was young-er we called them rice rockets. I

I’m neutral. It’s not ugly, but I don’t get the cybertruck associations. To me it just looks like a Kona or some other H/K small CUV.

The advantage of a Flex or most minivans for this application is rear HVAC control. Maybe a passenger Transit Connect does?

I think a merged Honda/Nissan might be able to offer something in this market space. A consolidated model merging designs of the Mirage/Versa/Honda Amaze.

To me it looks like what Hyundai or Toyota might have done a few years ago.

Production capacity & flexibility were the key takeaways I got when the merger was announced, at least in the North American context. All makes decent sense. In terms of product I think there is a market for a sub-Civic car in this hemisphere, and it could probably done more economically with a Nissan platform than a
