I restarted the game for the first time since 2014 and I can confirm it feels extra satisfying nowadays. Not just because of the upcoming sequel, and not just because it’s a great game, full stop. It’s also because of the pervasive political climate here in the US, where we are seeing some of the same bad old ideas…

I played the entire game as a stealth shooter and had a blast with that playstyle. I would completely love to go back and do a playthrough as the old-school BJ Blazkowicz from a time when there was no such thing as a stealth game.

I loved that the game basically frowned against cover based shooting. Like if you weren’t running and gunning around the map you’d tended to die a lot more often. Also by far, the Submarine level was my favorite.

It’s not especially strong or brave to flee from rape charges and hole up until the case is dropped. A more conventionally brave approach might be to stand trial in an attempt to prove your innocence. Running and hiding seems like something other than brave.
