I’m getting sleepy so this is just a short post and I’ll try to write some more in the morning but my quick advice is if you don’t have high blood pressure increase your sodium intake by *a lot*. Don’t do it too quickly but it will make a huge difference by letting your body hold on to and use the all that water

I agree hydration is really important for POTS but I thought dehydration exacerbated POTS by decreasing blood volume? I’ve never heard anything about a “dehydrated cardiac muscle”. Is there another way to phrase that?

Yup, in the Bay Area we have an Discover and GO—an amazing program through the library that gives passes to almost all local museums.

Living in (or around) San Francisco you already have access to dozens of Bay Area museums with Discover and Go from your library. Last year I went to SFMOMA and the Exploritorium for free using that program. This year I’m looking forward to hitting up the Pacific Pinball Museum, unlimited pinball games on vintage

Your kitty seems more amenable to dressing up than mine is

A $20 gift card to Outback Steakhouse from my (ex)partner’s parents. I’m a vegetarian and I’m allergic to their most famous non-meat dish(the bloomin’ onion thing). They knew both of those things. I couldn’t figure out if I was something they were just lazily regifting or if they went out of their way to get me the

This week was just washcloths for gifts so I’ll share something from a couple of weeks ago.

My apologies. I didn’t realize what Rusholm was trying to do and don’t defend it at all. I agree with you now that I’ve read more of his whataboutism BS.

Chose badly? No. She murdered a man. I thought you were doing a useful thing by placing her actions in context to hopefuly lead to systematic changes but if you’re using that context to diminish responsibility then you’re on your own here...

I think it’s possible to be critical of how fucked up police culture is AND place personal responsibility on an individual cop for the murder. There’s plenty of blame to go around.

Why must someone enjoy their work? Do most fast food workers enjoy their work? House cleaners? Accountants?

Discover and Go is great. You can get a pass to the pinball museum in Alameda and play on vintage machines all day long for free!

It works for past members too. I’ve been a member on and off for years so I decided to give it a go and it worked for me. I had been a member as recently as 2 months ago.

I’m very good at killing cables, even Powerline ones, but I’ve been very impressed with Anker’s customer service. They’ve sent me replacements within a couple days both times I’ve managed to break one.

I’m jealous. I’m in Contra Costa and I have to bring my mail in ballot to the poll each year just to get my damn sticker!

As far as I know* best practice currently is to use hormone *blocking* drugs in kids to delay the permanent effects of puberty. That way when they are older they can choose what medical interventions they do or don’t want.

All sedatives certainly do not have equal risks of respiratory depression. Ketamine is a bronchodilator and the anesthetic of choice for asthmatics. Of course any EMT that doesn’t know this sure as hell shouldn’t be administering it.

I finished these last week.

What show did you rent?
